Trials Of Mana Will Let You Respec Your Class And Wear Any Unlocked Class Costume

Square Enix has shared a bit more detail on the remake of a classic action RPG. No, not the Final Fantasy one. It’s for Trials Of Mana, the one SNES Mana game that did not get a release outside of Japan. The remake will remain true to the original, but with tons of small changes to fit better with modern conventions.

In Trials Of Mana, the six playable characters can level up and change classes. There is a “Light” or “Dark” choice for the new classes each with different abilities and stats. Good news is, Trials Of Mana will allow class respec should you change your mind later in the game, or just want to see the other classes without having to do another playthrough.

Though there’s a catch. You’ll need to acquire the Goddess Scales in-game item to enable class respec/reset. These are hard to come by, so technically you can’t just respec any time, but it is possible. Resetting a class works like unlocking a new class, where you need to find a Mana Stone to do so.

Each class will unlock new costumes for your party. But should you like a previous class look better, you can change the costumes with no penalty. Cosmetic costumes, if you will.

There are other quality-of-life changes coming to Trials Of Mana. This includes new in-game items that double EXP or lucre, shortcuts to abilities ala Kingdom Hearts, a quick method to heal the party to partial or full recovery without selecting each item or healing spell, easier difficulty setting and… an autosave function. Imagine not having autosaves in 2020, that’s a good call.

Also, expect 12 save slots, and more save points in this remake than the original release.

Trials Of Mana is coming out on April 24th for the PS4, PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch.
