The Malaysia Cyber Games Returns In 2018, With Eight Different Games To Compete In

It has been a while since we saw the Malaysian Cyber Games happening, the last was held back in 2015. After a two-year hiatus it has now returned. Announced today, eight different games will be open for competition in the 2018 edition of the Malaysia Cyber Games, with up to RM300,000 of total prize up for grabs.

The list of games so far comprised of notable esports games as well a few surprise picks. The games announced so far are:

  • Dota 2 (RM50,000)
  • FIFA 18 (RM50,000)
  • CS:GO (RM45,000)
  • Tekken 7 (RM40,000)
  • Mobile Legends (RM30,000)
  • Street Fighter V (RM25,000)
  • F1 2017 (RM10,000)
  • Injustice 2 (RM10,000)

The last two is usually not seen in Malaysia as an esport tournament, which is nice surprise. This also marks the biggest fighting games tournament in Malaysia in terms of prize pool, which in total is RM75,000. One more game is expected to join the list.

The Malaysian Cyber Games 2018 will commence on January 13-14 at PWTC. All the tournaments here are open for Malaysia residents only.
