The Crew Motorfest Gone Gold

Ready to rev up the Lamborghini Revuelto. Ubisoft announced that its open-world racing game The Crew Motorfest has gone gold.

This means that, barring Cyberpunk 2077 levels of mishaps happening, development for the launch version has concluded and physical copies are being manufactured. The game should be ready to launch this September.

Developed by Ivory Tower, The Crew Motorfest has the series pivot from having the entirety of the USA (albeit truncated) as an open world. Motorfest instead is set on the island of O’ahu, Hawaii, with a whole festival vibe happening that is not far off from the Forza Horizon series.

The Crew Motorfest has some interesting features it is bringing forward though. Grand Races takes a page from Ubisoft’s Riders Republic in that it’s a race with up to 28 players. On the single-player side, Playlists are hand-crafted events with a theme and/or story to highlight specific parts of car culture. And that’s not to mention the overall driving physics being improved, as mentioned in our impressions of its recent closed beta.

The Crew Motorfest also allows players of The Crew 2 to import their collection of cars, bikes, boats and planes. So almost all of the vehicles from The Crew 2 should be included in Motorfest.

The Crew Motorfest is releasing on September 14 for the PS5, PC (Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Connect) and Xbox Series X|S.
