The speedrunning community did it again. Summer Games Done Quick 2018, the summer edition of the speedruning event has come to a close. The eight-day event starting from June 24th and ended on July 1st hosted various speedruns from the community which can be watched through livestreams. All donations from the streams will then be channeled to charity organistations, this time it’s for Doctors Without Borders.

Over 35,000 players have donated to the total of $2,123,885 USD. It’s the highest donation total for Summer Games Done Quick- last year was at $1.76 million– and just roughly $100,000 short from Awesome Games Done Quick 2018 early this year. The event ended with a speedrun of Final Fantasy VI, the donation reaching the 2 million mark just as the game’s villain Kefka was taken down.
