Stranger Of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin Reveals New Party Member Sophia, Plus More Characters And Locations

Here’s another info blast for the upcoming soulslike action RPG Stranger Of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin. After last time revealing a quaint pirate town and a royal family, Square Enix and Koei Tecmo are revealing another set of characters and locations. Including a new member to protagonist Jack’s party.

Sophia, as she’s called, is described as “a warrior who joins Jack and the others on their journey, holding the same unwavering- that they must defeat Chaos”. She holds possession of a black crystal, just like Jack and his allies of Jed, Ash and Neon.

A new key visual we see in the press release depicts Sophia as part of this Chaos-killing quintet, and one of the new screenshots showed Sophia fighting alongside the party.

Also, the official Twitter pretty much confirms it.

The new press release information also reveals Astos, the king of the dark elves residing in Western Keep.

Lastly, we see Stranger Of Paradise’s rendition of a classic Final Fantasy character – Tiamat. In this game, this “Fiend Of The Wind” sports six heads with long necks and a tail, each used to deal wind-based attacks.

For locations, the previously mentioned Western Keep is one of the places you will be visiting. The castle has a giant arrow as its defence mechanism, something the party needs to be aware of and avoid.

You’ll also be visiting the Crystal Mirage, a “beautiful translucent tower that rises above the trees deep in the forest”. And lastly, there’s The Flying Fortress, a castle in a sky castle powered by advanced mechanical contraptions, which houses the wind crystal in its innermost area.

Looks like there’s a fair bit of adventuring you will be doing throughout Stranger Of Paradise, which do evoke the feel of a proper Final Fantasy game of years past. Only this time we get edgy dudes and ladies that’s going to save this world. And kill Chaos. Gotta kill Chaos.

Stranger Of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin is still set for release on March 18, 2022, for the PS4, PS5, PC (Epic Games Store), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
