Steep Is Ubisoft’s Game About Snowboards, Skis, Wingsuits and Parachutes

Ubisoft Annecy is usually a supporting studio for most of Ubisoft’s other games, but at Ubisoft’s E3 press conference, they are now making a game of their own.

Called Steep, it’s basically a snow extreme sports game that combines snowboarding, skiing, and gliding using wingsuits and parachutes. Think what the SSX series used to do- interconnecting routes in the montains, but now fully traversable as an “open world” set in the Alps.

Steep focuses a lot on its online aspects, like the 2012 SSX, which can be a worrisome sign. Though some cool functions like first-person GoPro camera, replay and sharing functions, as well as some rocking tunes to fit the “EXTREME” without overtly selling it as one has potential. Oh and those horrifying crash noises is cool. Be safe!

Steep is set to release in December this year. If you’re interested in participating in the beta test, you can go and apply for participation here.
