You may have heard of Image & Form, the developers of the Steamworld series. The series comprised of indie darlings spanning different genres with an inventive 2D aesthetic.
The developers are now making a jump to making 3D games with their latest game The Gunk. And they are also changing from making multi-platform releases to focusing only one platform: Xbox.
The Gunk is revealed at the recent Xbox Showcase. The trailer shows a girl and her friend, a pair of scavengers, stumbling into an exotic, dying planet affected by this mysterious corruption, i.e. The Gunk. From the trailer, it looks like a 3D platformer with traversal and a Ratchet & Clank-style Suck Cannon that can vacuum up the gunk.
The Gunk is still a long way off. Expect to see it released in September 2021 for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Windows 10 PC.
