Steam Introduces Remote Play Together,A Way To Play Local Multiplayer Games Online

Entering Steam Beta quite soon is Remote Play Together, a way for players on the Steam platform to play local multiplayer of games together with two or more friends. Think of it as Couch Gaming but your couch buddies is probably a few thousand miles away.

Steam states that “All local multiplayer,co-op and split-screen games will be playable”, so it will be interesting to see if older games like Borderlands 2 or Modern Warfare 3 (both have couch co-op) would work fine. Or even racing games could used the split-screen feature work with minimal latency.

Steam’s Remote Play Together will be available to download on the Steam Client Beta in October 21.
