Stampede: Racing Royale, the 60-player arcade racer by Sumo Leamington and publisher Secret Mode, has a release date.
The game will enter Steam Early Access this November, as revealed at the Into The Infinite 2023 stream.
Stampede is also hosting another round of Playtest on Steam. You can join by simply signing up at the game’s Steam page here. The next one will take place on August 28.
Stampede brings Mario Kart-esque arcade racing in a mass 60-player race. Mainstream racing sims like Gran Turismo 7 tops at 20 players per race, with the upcoming Forza Motorsport supporting 24 max. The Crew Motorfest’s Grand Race has 28 players and from the recent beta, that’s already chaotic. Now imagine 60, assuming the lobby can find 60 players that is.
It’s not just pure racing, there are also rounds where you throw power-ups at other racers to survive.
Stampede: Racing Royale will launch on Steam Early Access on November 2, and will be coming to consoles at a later date.
