Red Faction: Guerilla Re-Mars-Tered Announced For PS4, PC And Xbox One

We did not make up that pun

THQ Nordic has announced another remaster from its THQ backlog it now owns. And it also has a terrible pun to go with the last big remaster: Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition. Volition’s Red Faction Guerrilla, the 2009 open world action game is getting re-mars-tered.

It’s set on Mars, get it?

Puns aside, Guerrilla takes the series’ Geo-Mod engine that allows destructible environments and went a different approach- destructible buildings. Building collapse and break down as you smack or explode the pillars and supports down and behave as what you expect. You don’t get to see free-form physics-based destructible buildings a lot in recent games unfortunately.

But that’s all the more reason to revisit this. The remaster will get improved textures, improved shadow rendering, a re-work on post processing and shaders plus 4K support.

No exact launch date has been announced, it is targeted to be released in Q2 2018.
