Red Bull Will Be Sponsoring ESL One Genting

Red Bull has always been investing in e-sports. They are sponsoring several players for Street Fighter V, they run their own coverage of e-sports news and has been organising e-sports events, mostly for Street Fighter V like the Red Bull Kumite and the Red Bull Battle Grounds (which is the Capcom Pro Tour North America Finals). They have done events for League Of Legends as well with Red Bull Player One.

But seeing them being a sponsor for ESL One Genting is definitely an interesting move.

ESL One is a premier event series by the ESL that can be for various e-sports titles including CS:GO, Dota 2 and even Battlefield 4. For Genting, it will be of course for Dota 2, considering the strong Dota scene here, and home of one of the best Dota 2 teams Fnatic. As the home team, Fnatic is directly invited to the fold alongside The International 2016 winners and runners up Wings Gaming and Digital Chaos. The other five slots are gained through regional qualifiers, which Virtus.pro (America), NP (Europe), Execration (Southeast Asia) , and Newbee (China) has qualified. The last slot is for the Malaysian qualifier strating mid-December, so another local team will be joining the fold as the eight teams battle it out at the Arena Of Stars in Genting Highlands.

While the energy drink brand is big over at other parts of the world, they are not as huge here. So that’s a pretty good reason to make a move with ESL One Genting. As such, expect meet-and-greet sessions and mini competitions from Red Bull at the event, as well as plenty of cans of Red Bull: they are the official drink sponsors.
