Ratchet & Clank fans, rejoice! The latest Ratchet & Clank, the reboot/remake/movie adaptation game of the 2002 classic platformer is now confirmed to be released on the Asian markets simultaneously with other regions: April 12. Along with the announcement, a price point has been revealed.
The physical copy is priced at RM179 and digital versions at RM156. Although physical copy prices may differ depending on who’s selling, the RM156 price point for the digital versions lines up with the 40$ US retail price. Yes, it’s a tad cheaper than the full 60$/RM200+ AAA games out there, and it’s good to see the local prices reflecting this as well.
Of course, there’s an early purchase bonus. By buying Ratchet & Clank 2016 early, you will get a access to The Bouncer, a weapon that made its debut in Ratchet & Clank 2: Going Commando. A very formidable weapon, so that exclusivity should entice you in buying it early. Hopefully it will be available to everyone in the future.
Why make a post out of this? It seems not all games will have a definite simultaneous release in Asia. With Hitman 2016 and Trackmania Turbo not available digitally on Asia’s Playstation Store, and both had open beta tests for all PS4 users except the ones with an Asian account, not many games outside of the overly-hyped AAA titles will make it to our shores, if you use the PS4 primarily. Both mentioned games are actually available on Steam. So it is not safe to assume any game with a release date will be released at the same time for Asia.
Anyway, who’s excited to relive their nostalgia playing the first Ratchet & Clank again, now in 1080p60 with updated controls and gameplay features?
