Rage On – Tekken 7 Releases On June 2nd

Finally, a release date! Bandai Namco’s upcoming fighting game Tekken 7 may have been out in the arcades for a while, it was first released in 2015, but it is now ready for its home release on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Not only will Tekken 7 continues the Mishima family feud (of epic proportions- Heihachi has thrown his son off a cliff multiple times now!), it will also introduce new gameplay mechanics brand new to the series. The Rage system will bring hard-hitting moves, equivalent to a Super in other fighting games, into Tekken. The catch is you need to be in low health, particularly when your health bar flashes red, to pull of a Rage Art or a combo opportunity with a Rage Drive.

Akuma of Street Fighter fame will also be available, bringing in Street Fighter mechanics into Tekken.

Check out the latest trailer below. Of course, it involves someone being thrown off a cliff.

Unfortunately, Bandai Namco is using the tried-and true pre-order for bonus character (Eliza the vampire) for Tekken 7. But if the long development time helps bring in a good breadth of content right out of the gate, like any fighting game should do, then getting one character a bit late, or by DLC, should not be an issue.

But still, fighting game fans have it packed this year. Injustice 2 in May, Tekken 7 in June, and Marvel VS Capcom Infinite somewhere later this year.
