Put School Doodles To Battle In Drawn To Death, Releasing April 4

David Jaffe, creator of God Of War and Twisted Metal, has been busy lately with a new game that is a “shooter/brawler hybrid” with a pretty distinct artstyle. That game? Drawn To Death is the name.

Imagine if your secondary school doodles from the teenage years come to life. If you’re a kid of the 80’s or 90’s then that is exactly how it supposed to look. Grotesque mishmash of characters that looks sort of awesome in a way. Now have them all battle out with crazy weapons, over-the-top violence and an announcer with a potty mouth.

But the interesting part here is how the gameplay is. It’s a multiplayer only game with four player free-for-all or 2v2 team play. The characters are all unique both in looks and mechanics, something we have seen before with the likes of Overwatch, Paladins and even Battleborn. But it has a really long time to kill- if in Call Of Duty games you get to kill anyone pretty quick, Drawn To Death is not like that. So expect long skirmishes as the four players scamper around the sketchbook environments while slowly trickling down each other’s lives.

Playstation Blog just released this interview video with the man himself. You can see glimpses of the game here as well:

Drawn To Death is expected to launch on April 4 at $20 USD (roughly RM88). Considering the novel take of a multiplayer shooter and its budget price, it’s certainly something interesting, considering this is a PS4 exclusive, first-party game from Sony. We will see if that release also means the same for Asia as well soon.
