Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown, the new metroidvania/search action/2D action-adventure-platformer game from Ubisoft is releasing next week. Early reviews are out now and the consensus so far looks positive.
And starting today, you can try out a demo of Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown ahead of its release.
Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, The Lost Crown tasks the players on controlling Sargon, a Persian warrior with Time Powers and Super Abilities at his disposal in an adventure to save the Prince. Prince Of Persia, the 1989 original by Jordan Mechner, was a sort-of-2D metroidvania. So it’s cool to see Ubisoft throwing it back to 2D with this title.
(Ubisoft is also developing a remaster of Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time, the first 3D Prince Of Persia and the first developed by Ubisoft. Though there have been no news about that game for a while.)
The demo for Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown isn’t just the first few hours of the game. Rather, it includes “carefully selected sections from the game, with early unlocks of time powers and amulets, to show the main gameplay features while not spoiling the story”. Like a vertical slice, designed to show off the best bits of the gameplay.
The demo is available now on PS4, PS5, PC (Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown will be available on January 18 on the previously mentioned platforms.
