33

In conjunction with today’s Pokémon Day celebrations, Nintendo in a special Direct announced the new main-line Pokémon games for the Nintendo Switch systems: Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield.

Set in the Galar Region, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield mark the 8th generation of the Pokémon games, and will feature improved graphics over the games 3DS entries.

The stream also showed off the three starter Pokémon going to be made available to the player: Fire-type rabbit Scorbunny, Grass-type monkey Grookey and Water-type lizard Sobble.

Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are expected to come on Nintendo Switch late 2019.
