Playstation VR is set to have a worldwide launch on October 13, so by the time you read this, you should see the headset in the hands of consumers. Unfortunately for Malaysia, there is a slight delay hitting us that’s pushing the release date from the 13th to the 21st instead.
The delay was announced via Sony Malaysia’s and Playstation Asia’s Facebook page. No specific reason was given for the delay, and the delay was announced at a short notice that those who pre-ordered are not expressing disappointment on the issue. According to Lowyat.Net, Sony Interactive Entertainment issued the same response listed on both the Facebook pages, so they are not disclosing any specific reason for the delay.
The delay does not affect other SEA countries from it being available on launch day, only Malaysia, so it could be speculated that it has something to do with getting the product ready to be sold in the country. But this is just speculation on our end.
It’s unfortunate to have a delay happened so close to launch day. To those that pre-ordered PS VR in Malaysia, we feel your pain.
