The original Doom and Doom II ports are getting updated today. Bethesda is adding in some quality of life additions as well as the addition of curated add-ons.
On the QOL additions, you can now play both FPS games at 60fps instead of the default 35fps. Also, both games get dedicated quick-saves and quick-loads with the touch of a button. Press R/R1/RB to save at any time, L/L1/LB to load again. Perfect for those struggling, or those that need to perfect their speedruns.
There are more QOL additions with this update, which you can find in the patch notes here.
Doom and Doom II are also getting megawads, or as it is referred now as curated add-ons. Now you can play extra, community-made episodes (levels) or megawads. Surprisingly, the initial list features Sigil, the unofficial Doom megawad created by Doom co-creator John Romero.
The original Doom and Doom II are out now on PS4 (including PS Store Asia), Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
