Old World Pharaohs Of The Nile DLC Out Now

Old World, the historical 4X game by Mohawk Games, gets another DLC, out now.

The Pharaohs Of The Nile DLC Pack adds six scenarios, all with bespoke mechanics as part of a new story-driven campaign. This inlcudes a Nile flood cycle, where food production is affected by how much water is flowing through the famous river, and the “Ma’at”.

Also, within the new DLC campaign, there will be a new event chain based loosely on the Exodus, but told from the Egyptian point of view.

Expect to see new characters and mythical references.

Fans of the sandbox mode, the regular way to play most 4X games, the DLC adds the Kush, a new nation that appeared in 8th century BCE. So there’s another Egyptian-based nation to play as. They come with interesting new bonuses and unique units, unique improvements and four dynasties that can change the nations’ gameplay style, with the Amanirenas being the leader’s dynasty.

Old World takes on a very specific timeframe for its game, the ancient and classical eras. The zoomed-in time scope is paired with a character system not too dissimilar to Crusader Kings, so you will be controlling different characters and see characters within your court, and rival nations come and go, which gives a bit more flavour to the usual 4X gameplay.

Previously, Old World expanded with The Sacred and The Profane DLC, which adds more religion-themed content to the game.

Old World Pharaohs Of The Nile DLC pack is out now, available on Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG.
