Next PS4 Update Will See 16-Player Parties With Improved Voice Chat Quality

Playstation is calling for participants will to test out a beta version of its upcoming PS4 firmware update. And with that, we get a glimpse of what to expect from it.

As spelled out on the Playstation Blog, the update focuses on improving the party feature. It is doubling the max capacity from 8 to 16. And voice chat audio quality, as well as network connectivity, is set to be improved.

The beta is limited to players from US and Canada only. So for us over here in Southeast Asia, we’ll just have to wait and see until the update arrives officially. It’s a nice quality-of-life update from the sound of it, and very useful if you just want a big group of friends hanging out on voice chat.
