This should be the last gameplay trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda as it’s gearing up for its March 21 release. This time it’s the multiplayer. First seen in Mass Effect 3, the multiplayer is co-op only and essentially a Horde mode, where you a few other players have to fend of wave upon waves of enemies. Andromeda holds not much different, as you are again dropped with three players to survive the onslaught.
The new gameplay options provided with a more flexible class system and tons of mobility options will shine in multiplayer. Though the use of consumables is just a sneaky way to put micro-transactions- there’s two currencies shown when you can buy consumables. Micro-transaction prices has been found for the UK here.
As long as the in-game currency can be earned at a fair rate it should be at least bearable. A shame most AAA games nowadays still offers micro-transactions.

The multiplayer has ties to the single-player progression (though it seems to be not as crucial to what Mass Effect 3 implemented). Curiously, only 5 maps will be available on launch. Bioware promised that upcoming multiplayer maps will be free, so we will see if the extra ones coming down the line help spice things up.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to launch on March 21 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. EA/Origin Access subscribers will get a taste of the game as early as 16 March.
