New Eternal Strands Gameplay Trailer Shows How You Can Cast Magic On Just About Anything

A new trailer for Yellow Brick Games’ Eternal Strands emerged during the Xbox Partner Showcase livestream. It’s a gameplay that highlights the main hook of this action-RPG: the magic system that interacts with the environment.

Eternal Strands allow players to set fire on the environment and it will behave like fires should. It can burn down grass and trees, not just affects enemies. Similarly, ice frost magic can spread on bodies of water. And kinetic force magic not only can grab and fling objects, it can fling the character themselves.

As Eternal Strands require some form of grinding, you need to collect threads and rare resources dropped from enemies to craft upgrades, and enemies do respawn, you can have fun trying new strategies and push the interacting mechanics to its limits.

Also there’s a new big boss monster called the Highland Iceclaw. This Epic enemy flies around and deals ice attacks.

Speaking of Epic, Yellow Brick Games confirms it will also be available on the Epic Games Store alongside the PC release on Steam.

Game Pass subscribers can also expect the Eternal Strands to arrive on the service day 1.

Eternal Strands will release sometime in 2025 on the PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and Xbox Series X|S.
