Final Fantasy XV may have been released, but its far from finished being worked on. Hajime Tabata, the game’s director, have given more details on what is to come for the game in an interview with Famitsu.
The online co-op DLC, tentatively titled as “Companions”, isn’t just you and three friends taking the role of either Noctis, Ignis, Gladio and Prompto. As such, the team at Square Enix are exploring the possibilities to add a character creation system to use in the DLC. Not only that, they are thinking of adding said character into the main game.
This DLC is bundled in the RM100 Season Pass, including three pieces of story content for Ignis, Gladio and Prompto. The first DLC from the Season Pass, the Holiday Pack +, is out now.
Other than that, there’s plans on making limited-time hunts. Seems like Io Interactive’s Hitman, also published by Square Enix, may be the influence here as they have been doing limited-time events as well.
Tabata also reiterated that work is still ongoing to fix the later half of FFXV, especially in delivering story points and tweaking a specific chapter that has been receiving mixed responses.
Final Fantasy XV managed to be a decent game despite its troublesome development. Our review states that “the road trip journey of Noctis, Gladio, Ignis and Prompto certainly is a memorable one”. Maybe after all the updates and DLCs are out it’s worth having the trip again.
