Publisher and developer Kuro Game will be bringing its hit mobile character action game Punishing: Gray Raven in English for North America, Europe, Australia and Southeast Asia.
The free-to-play mobile game first launched in 2019 in China and has since also made available in Japan. This summer will see a more widespread release and for the first time, in English.
Punishing: Gray Raven combines a dark cyberpunk story with hack-and-slash combat inspired by Nier Automata and Bayonetta. So, a character action game. In mobile form. With anime waifus.
(Speaking of Nier Automata, judging from the abundance of YouTube videos about the game, there was in fact a Nier Automata collab event that has ran on the Japanese/Chinese release. Fitting.)
You’ll be collecting a squad of characters, and will be bring three of them to each encounter. You can tag in the others, all with different abilities, any time during battle. Even mid-combo.
Also, expect the usual RPG elements as well as visual novel-style storytelling, like in most mobile games of its kind.
Pre-registration for the English release of Punishing: Gray Raven is coming soon, alongside a closed beta test. The expected release window is this summer (Q3) for iOS and Android.
For now, you can follow the game’s official channels on their English Twitter and Facebook.
