You think only Sony is jumping in on the e-sports wagon? Looks like Microsoft has think of the idea even further with its Xbox Live Tournaments Platform. With this platform, not only can tournament organisers get their tournaments to run nicely with Xbox players, as the platform helps the process from within the system with notifications, registration and queuing, but it will allow any player to organise their own grassroots tournament within their community.
Microsoft is already partnering up with the ESL and FaceIt for e-sports tournaments, with more partners to come, but seeing its ability to organise player-hosted tournaments with the same tools used for e-sports is one interesting twist of the idea.
So when can we expect to see this function goes live? Microsoft is aiming at sometime later this year until the first few games started to support this.
