If you are from Southeast Asia and you’ve been to a cyber cafe in the 00’s you must have heard of MapleStory. The 2D MMORPG was a hit in here, and being free-to-play, had a big playerbase back in its prime.
Now there is a version of the game on mobile devices.
MapleStory M is based on the original MMO, so expect tons of customisation and boss raids all delivered in its cutesy 2D look. It includes five original characters (Dark Knight, Bowmaster, Night Lord, Bishop and Corsair), daily dungeons with different drops everyday, private mini dungeons perfect for power levelling or hunting for a specific item drop, and 10-player raids and more.
The game has been released in Korea back in October 2016 and will roll out to the rest of the world soon enough.
There’s an open beta starting today until January 30th on Android, so if you’re curious to see if it’s the MapleStory you know and love, give the beta a shot. You can download the app on Android here.
MapleStory M is not out just yet, but it should be available on iOS and Android later this year.
