Mafia III, the latest of open-world crime game from 2K, will hit the streets this October. With an all new setting and an all new development team in charge of the game, Mafia III takes place in New Bordeaux, a fictional New Orleans, in 1968. The first Mafia took place in the Prohibition Era in the 20’s, while the sequel takes place in the 40’s.
The player controls Lincoln Clay on a mission to take down the mafioso in town. He will be aided by his lieutenants as he goes for revenge against the Italian Mob- the Mafia family that was the focus of the past two games. It’s also a completely open-world game this time around. Previous games feature a full city but the game is entirely linear, but developers Hangar 13 have embraced the open-world nature of many games currently in the market. So expect a more GTA vibe coming from this coming title.
Check out the new trailer that showcases the story beats. Looks intense, and the soundtrack sounds perfect for the period.
