Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was supposed to be released sometime this Spring (Q2). However, it seems that won’t be happening.
A tweet by developers TT Games have said that “we won’t be able to make our intended Spring release date”.
“All of us at TT Games are working hard to make Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga the biggest and best-ever Lego game – but we’re going to need more time to do it,” the statement reads.
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be an entirely new game recapturing the story of all three trilogies of Star Wars, spanning over nine movies. The last two movies will be making its Lego game debut in The Skywalker Saga.
TT Games usually have two Lego games a year, but with the announcements of multiple delays (and no other Lego game until this comes out) should signal how serious they are in getting it right.
The original Lego Star Wars game made family-friendly 3D platformers still an enjoyable game genre, even as mainstream gaming has moved on. So there’s a lot riding on this one.
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is one of many games under publisher Warner Bros. that has been delayed, which includes Back 4 Blood, Gotham Knights and Hogwarts Legacy.
