Developers ClockStone (mostly known for making the Bridge Constructor series) and publisher Thunderful are working on a new Lego game. Lego Bricktales is a puzzler set in Lego dioramas where you are allowed the full freedom of brick building as a game mechanic.
This is not like TT Games’ Lego games where you only build pre-determined objects and is done by holding a button, or the last Lego puzzler Lego Builder’s Journey where the solution to the brick building is highly restrictive. In Lego Bricktales, you can build your own solutions to the many puzzles. Just like playing with Lego bricks in real life, but without the instruction manual.
The trailer shows you can make a gyrocopter using the Lego bricks found/ Thanks to the brick-by-brick building mechanic, you are free to make your own cursed creations that may or may not be the solution to your problem.
Some of the puzzles require you to build physics-based objects like the gyrocopter, crane, and yes, even bridges. But there are also puzzles where you will need to create objects that are purely aesthetic, like making your own market stand.
A Lego puzzler has always made sense, but with Lego Bricktales it’s finally leveraging on the construction toy IP’s greatest strength- the freedom to create however you want.
Lego Bricktales is set to release sometime later this year to PC (Steam).
