Kojima Working On New “Action Espionage” Game Named Physint After Death Stranding 2

At the State Of Play January 2024 broadcast, not only did Kojima Productions showed more of Death Stranding 2, but a new game was also announced.

PlayStation Studios head Herman Hulst and Hideo Kojima have revealed that they are working on a new IP, a “next-generation action espionage” game after Death Stranding 2. It will be called Physint.

Kojima’s famous work, the Metal Gear series, have the tagline of being “tactical espionage action”.

So this is basically the announcement of Kojima making a new stealth-action game in the veins of Metal Gear, but with PlayStation Studios.

Kojima said that this will be an “interactive game” but also a “movie” (which sounds like your typical Hideo Kojima game).

But this new IP goes beyond video games. Kojima made mentioned that Sony not only does games (via PlayStation), but also music and movies. And the final shot of the announcement is a zoom out that reveals the shoot was done in the studio lot at Colombia Pictures, part of Sony Pictures. And that’s where the name Physint is namedropped- on the studio lot sign.

Production hasn’t started for this new game, but it will be once Death Stranding 2 is released.

Between this, Death Stranding 2 and “OD” (in partnership with Xbox Game Studios), it looks like Kojima, and Kojima Productions, sure are busy.
