No two Klei games are ever the same, and the indie studio keeps on making newer games each year. As their colony builder and vomiting simulator Oxygen Not Included ramps up progress to an Early Access game, they also started working on a new game- this time it’s an RPG.
Griftlands looks to be taking cues from JRPGs (turn-based battles, overworld map and party members running behind you) as well as CRPGs with mechanics like negotiations and dynamic conversations. “Everything is negotiable: money, loyalty—even morality,” reads the description on Steam.
Like every Klei game, it sports its own distinctive art style, a strong, gutsy 2D look that certainly pops.
Griftlands will be available later this year or in early 2018 on PC.
