Immortals Of Aveum is a new game and debut title from Ascendant Studios, and will be published by EA under the EA Originals label.
The team is made up of industry veterans, with the studio head being the director behind Dead Space and several Call Of Duty games. No, it’s not Glenn Schofield (who’s heading Striking Distance that just released The Callisto Protocol), but Bret Robbins.
Apparently, there are two former EA staff that worked on Dead Space then moved to Sledgehammer to work on COD and then form their own indie studio.
Robbins specifically was the director of the original Dead Space (which is getting a remake next month), Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3, Call Of Duty Advance Warfare and Call Of Duty WWII.
The rest of the team at Ascendant Studios also have extensive past experience. There are individuals who have worked on games including Halo, Telltale’s The Walking Dead, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Borderlands, The Wolf Among Us, Mafia, Tomb Raider, Gears of War, Metal Gear Solid, The Elder Scrolls and BioShock.
Immortals Of Aveum was revealed at The Game Awards 2022. It’s a short teaser, so we’ll have to wait a bit more to really see what the game is about. The scale being shown looks more than just an indie project- there’s even overused orchestra music. It is also running on the latest Unreal Engine 5.
Immortals Of Aveum is targeting a 2023 release on PS4, PC and Xbox Series X|S.
