Humankind Gets First DLC, Cultures Of Africa, Available Now

Sega and Amplitude’s historical 4X strategy game (and Civilization challenger) Humankind got its first paid DLC release today in the form of Cultures Of Africa.

This DLC adds 6 new African cultures that your empire can adopt, one for each era.

The new cultures added in the Cultures Of Africa DLC are the following:

  • Era 1 – Bantu (Expansionist)
  • Era 2 – Garamantes (Agrarian)
  • Era 3 – Swahili (Merchant)
  • Era 4 – Maasai (Agrarian)
  • Era 5 – Ethiopians (Militarist)
  • Era 6 – Nigerians (Agrarian)

Alongside that, the Cultures Of Africa adds the following 5 new wonders:

  • Mount Kilimanjaro
  • Victoria Falls
  • Zuma Rock
  • Lake Natron
  • Great Mosque of Djenné

Plus, there are another 7 independent people (city-states, to use Civ parlance, if you will) and 15 new narrative events that get added with this DLC.

Alongside that, like most strategy games these days, the DLC drop is accompanied by a new free update. The Allen Newell update, as it’s called, includes a bunch of fixes as requested by the community. And that includes the following:

  • AI: Improved ground bombardment
  • AI: Improved siege and coastal combat behavior
  • AI: Improved war planning
  • AI: Improved the way AI handles Civic choices
  • AI: Improved the way AI handles Culture choices
  • Fixed some Help Layer and Tooltip errors
  • Bugfixes on Soviet EQ
  • Fixes to nuclear strikes
  • Fixes to surrender
  • Various fixes to the modding tools

Humankind’s Cultures Of Africa DLC is now available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store).
