Housemarque, makers of arcade games and the PS5-exclusive shooter Returnal, has now been acquired by Sony, and will join the PlayStation Studios label.

Housemarque has been working with Sony in producing various arcade games, starting with Super Stardust HD on the PS3.
The success of Returnal, the Finnish studio’s biggest game (and a full-price title too) should see them continue to make PlayStation exclusives, but now with even more backing as a first-party studio.
