While the announcement trailer for the new Dawn Of War game since 2009 may not hold much info of how he gameplay works, the folks over at PC Gamer got the chance to see Relic’s new RTS title. It seems that Dawn Of War III will marry the small squad tactical aspect introduced in II with the first game’s classic RTS formula, base and units building and all.
Each of the three confirmed races: the Space Marines, Orks and Eldar, all have their own campaign, all with their own heroes, elites, super units and super abilities. Base building and resource collecting are back, which you can use to produce large numbers of units. These units, now defined as line units, will act as the main damage dealers while your heroes: elite units, can provide a huge tactical advantage at certain times.
These units, now defined as line units, will act as the main damage dealers while your elite units- individual heroes (e.g. Gabriel Angelos), a strong squad (e.g. Assault Terminators) or a super unit (huge units like the Impreial Knight), can provide a huge tactical advantage at certain times.
Aside from that, cover system from the previous game has been simplified, and a lot of care was made to get Dawn Of War III accessible.
