Finally, there’s more news for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. But unfortunately, it’s not good.
Over on the official Twitter account for Bloodlines, the sequel to the cult-classic RPG is further delayed and will not release in 2021. With no release date. Paradox Interactive also stopped accepting pre-orders.
“This game is very important to us and it has been an ambitious project from the start,” the post reads. “In order to meet our goals for it, we’ve come to the conclusion that a change is needed and, as a result, more development time is required.”
The also announced that Hardsuit Labs will no longer be leading the development of Bloodlines 2.
Previously, Bloodlines 2 lost its lead narrative designer Brian Mitsoda and its creative director Ka’ai Cluney. Both were veterans that worked on the original Bloodlines.
The game was announced back at GDC 2019 with a firm release window of 2020. Now we’re even sure if we get to see it release in 2022.
Things are not looking good for Bloodlines 2. But Paradox seems to really want to do it right with this indefinite delay. We will have to wait and see if it ultimately pays off in the future.
