Gunman Taco Truck Is A New Game Designed By John Romero’s 11-Year-Old Son

The family that makes games together, sticks together. John Romero is most famously known for creating the original Doom with John Carmack and id Software before moving on and designing other games. But what is he up to now? Apparently, he and his wife Brenda are helping their son Donovan Brathwaite-Romero on a game about selling tacos and killing mutants.

Gunman Taco Truck is as silly as it sounds. Your taco truck is out on a journey to Canada for safe haven, so you embark on a cross country journey, shooting out mutants and gathering meat while taking stops along the way selling tacos to leftover survivors of a nuclear apocalypse

To be frank, it’s a pretty simple game, but this being a product of a family project is pretty interesting. This two year project has also helped Donovan learn more of how to program. It’s the perk of having game industry veterans as your parents.

Always good to hear more young people already dabbling with making videogames. We happened to come across a team of Malaysian students that have made a game back at Comic Fiesta 2016.

Gunman Taco Truck is now out on Steam for RM27. Early Steam review report it as pretty difficult, but a fun experience.
