Another month, another round of new cars being added to Gran Turismo 7. It’s not a massive Spec III update or something that can match last November’s update. But the good news is, it’s a relatively bountiful amount of new cars, about twice the usual with six new cars added for November 2024. The bad news, two of them are variants, sort of like last month.
The November 2024 Update, or Update 1.54, for Gran Turismo 7 adds six new cars, from a classic Formula 1 car to a modern electric hypercar.
The highlight of the bunch has to be the 1955 Mercedes-Benz W196 R. Piloted by F1 legends Juan Manuel Fangio and Stirling Moss (and a few others), this was the last F1 car fielded by the German manufacturer right until they bought Brawn GP to re-enter the grid in 2010.
This was also the year where spectators of the 24 Hour of Le Mans were tragically killed in an accident, which forced Mercedes to withdrew all motorsports activity the following year.
The Porsche Mission X is a much-need new modern car. Revealed in 2023 and to go in production in 2025, this is the marque’s latest halo car, but completely powered by electric motors.
Fans of rally adjacent Fords will love that the Ford Escort RS joins the Ford Sierra.
The other two cars are variants of existing models. Another Suzuki Jimny but wider (and not a kei car). And another Porsche 911. At least the regular version of the 911 (992) car looks nice without all the track package bodywork its GT3 RS variant had.
Gran Turismo 7 November 2024 Update New Cars:
The total number of cars in GT7 after Update 1.54 is now at 519 cars.
- Ford Escort RS Cosworth ’92
- Mercedes-Benz W 196 R ’55
- Porsche 911 Turbo S (992) ’20
- Porsche Mission X ’23
- Suzuki Jimny Sierra JC ’18
As for other content additions, there is one new significant addition in the form of new wheels by Rotiform. The selection is limited, and there’s no deep-dish rims being served here, but it’s a good start.
For PS5 players, GT Sophy is compatible with two more tracks: Trial Mountain and Tokyo Expressway East Clockwise.
Curiously, server maintenance was done a day before the update arrives, and PS5 players can download the hefty update before it goes live tomorrow, November 21. GT7 content updates always arrive on Thursdays, where the game servers will be down for maintenance for two hours.
Other contents include the usual addition of new Scapes to take pictures of cars at (this month, we’re going to Colorado), new World Circuit races and an Extra Menu.
Full patch notes will be available when the update goes live.
Gran Turismo 7 is out now on PS4 and PS5.
