Gran Turismo 7 March 2024 Update Adds Three New Cars

The monthly free content update for Gran Turismo 7 marches on into its third year. And for March 2024, the racing game will be adding the usual number of cars.

Update 1.44 will be adding two new road cars and one race car. All of these have been basically guessed correctly by fans as soon as the usual teaser silhouettes went live.

The teasers now feature each car’s engine revving, which acts as both an easier hint for car enthusiasts to guess and a way to show off how far the audio team has done their job to capture or recreate such sounds.

The sportier of the two road cars is the 2016 Audi R8 Coupé V10 plus. There’s already an Audi R8 in the game, but this is the 2nd generation with updated specs and design. Think of it like last month where the Audi TT gets all its generations represented. So is the R8, now that both of the generations are here.

The other is fellow VAG stablemate, the Lamborghini Urus. Famous for being the Lambo SUV (though technically not the first if you count the LM 002), the Urus brings that muscular bravado the brand exudes into the most popular car segment.

The highlight of the update is of course, the return of the 1999 Toyota GT-One. A Gran Turismo icon since its introduction to the series in Gran Turismo 2, the GT1/LMGTP endurance racer is back and looking better than ever. And thankfully it’s not in a league of its own this time. Its GT1 contemporaries the McLaren F1 GTR and Mercedes CLK GTR (plus the road-going version of the Porsche 911 GT1) are in the game already.

Gran Turismo 7 March 2024 Update New Cars

The total number of cars in Gran Turismo 7 after this update is now at 497 cars.

  • Audi R8 Coupé V10 plus ’16 – Brand Central
  • Lamborghini Urus ’18 – Brand Central
  • Toyota GT-One (TS020) ’99 – Legend Cars

The March 2024 update for Gran Turismo 7 will not have new tracks. The last update to add one was the big “Spec II” update back in November 2023.

The update adds a new Extra Menu (optional car collection goals), three new World Circuit races (one includes a race at Circuit de la Sarthe) and new Scapes (photo mode) scenes in Fukushima.

The update goes live on March 28. Gran Turismo 7 is out now on PS4 and PS5.
