Go-Go Town! Is Another Take On An Animal Crossing-Like Sandbox Life Sim

At the Wholesome Direct, developer Prideful Sloth showcased their latest game, Go-Go Town!

In Go-Go Town!, you are tasked with being a mayor of a run-down town. And it’s up to you on what to build. And as you build buildings, orchards, and roads, the townfolk (and tourists) will come.

And when you need a break from your mayoral duties, you can enjoy the life in town (that you build) with activities including dancing in a club.

And you can also mingle with the townfolk, hearing them out and helping them with their needs.

The game is developed by Prideful Sloth, the developer behind Grow: Song Of The Evertree. Grow had an Animal Crossing-ish town-builder mechanic, but it looks like Go-Go Town! is doubling down on that, trading away the fantasy setting for a contemporary and urban one. There’s still some light gardening, judging from the trailer. And this time, the developer is self-publishing.

Go-Go Town will host a public playtest on PC (Steam) on July 3, which you can sign up to play here.

There is a demo, which is based on a demo build that was showcased at PAX East, and previously made available in May, but the playtest version sets you at the beginning of the game so you can build the town from scratch.
