War, war never changes. But Fallout sure did after Bethesda bought the IP from Interplay. The Post-Nuclear RPG started out as a humble isometric CRPG with turn-based combat. Developed by Black Isle Studios, it was different from the many fantasy RPGs of the time for taking place in an alternate universe where the 50’s never left, developed nuclear technology which resulted in nuclear war.

Most of the original team later founded Obsidian Entertainment, which you might know as the developers of Fallout: New Vegas, as well as various high-profile RPG sequels.
