Free Game Alert! Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon Is Free For PC On uPlay

Another month, another free PC game from Ubisoft. To celebrate their 30-year anniversary Ubisoft is giving away free games on PC via their uPlay platform. All you need to do is claim the download with a uPlay account (you’ll basically have one if you played any recent Ubisoft game) and it’s yours to keep. For the month of November, we’re going back to the 80’s with this retro-fused standalone expansion to Far Cry 3, Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon.

Basically a spin-off and has nothing to do with the Far Cry series, Blood Dragon tasks you as super-soldier Rex Colt, voiced by Michael Biehn, infiltrating an island to stop a general who has gone rogue. The aesthetic here is a pure 80’s version of the future, with bright neon lights and a soundtrack full of synthesizers accompanying you throughout your mission. Released in 2013, it got good reviews, mainly for its charming setting and the game not taking itself seriously. Blood Dragon was a successful enough that Ubisoft used the universe again to do a spin-off for another game. This year saw the release of another standalone expansion, this time for Trials Fusion, with the Blood Dragon theme called Trials Of The Blood Dragon.

If you’re a fan of the Far Cry gameplay loop and adore the 80’s aesthetic this should be right up your alley. Here’s the link where you can claim your download.
