Them’s Fightin’ Herds has an interesting development. It started as a My Little Pony fangame titled My Little Pony: Fighting Is Magic, but later got ceased and deceased by Hasbro, as expected. Development still continued and My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic showrunner Lauren Faust helped design all-new four-legged characters for use of this now original fighting game.
And this looks to be a legit fighting game. It uses the Z Engine that powered Skullgirls, another great indie fighting game, uses GGPO for netcode and even has crossover deals with Skullgirls, Blazblue: Central Friction and Guilty Gear Xrd Rev2. It wants to be treated as a legit fighting game.
Them’s Fightin’ Herd will be out on February 22nd (23rd for Malaysia) on PC via Steam.
