First Seasonal Event For PSO2 New Genesis, Upcoming Braver Class Teased

Sega has revealed what new content is coming soon to the free-to-play MMORPG Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis. With New Genesis being a fundamental refresh, it’s quite lacking in content, but there’s more to coming in July and August.

The developers revealed what’s coming in July in the first of many PSO2 NGS Headline broadcast. You can expect new cosmetics from multiple AC Scratch Ticket campaigns. For the uninitiated, is the game’s gacha system. Though cosmetics can still be acquired by F2P players using only in-game currency via the personal shops.

As for non-phashion content, July will see a seasonal event kicking off. Starting on July 7, the PSO2 9th Anniversary Event will kick off until August 4.

There will be new limited-time daily and weekly tasks to complete, which will net you points to cash in to the event vendor, Phenomenologist Xiandy for items. These include the first elemental weapons for the PSO2 NGS, the Glissen series (3-star, lightning elemental).

Seasonal enemies will also appear (with a seasonal symbol visible on them) that are weak to lightning. And a different version of Rappys will appear during this event: Ceremo Rappys.

For experienced players at the current level cap and the right gear, there’s also Gigantix and Pettas Vera seasonal enemies.

On July 21, the PSO2 9th Anniversary Event enters its second half, with new limited-time tasks and new inventory in the shop. Seasonal enemy locations will also change and a new Gigantix enemy will appear. More reasons to wait for a storm to come.

The broadcast also showed a teaser of the upcoming seventh class, the Braver. Just like in PSO2, the Braver is a hybrid class that can fight at range with Photon Bows or up close with a katana.

Potential Braver mains can expect to be motivated when the class is released later in August.

Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis is out now, with the Global Version available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store) and Xbox One. You can check out our impressions of the initial two weeks of the launch here.
