Call of Duty: Black Ops III fans playing on PS4 will be the first to get to play on the new maps of the new Awakening DLC pack.
This will be the first time a Black Ops DLC pack will release first on a Playstation platform. Until now XBOX had been the platform favored by Activision for their Call of Duty titles.
The new maps of Awakening can be seen in the official trailer above and include:
- The Gauntlet, a map containing three distinctly different types of terrain.
- Splash, a map set in an abandoned water park.
- Rise, a more traditional Call of Duty map set in a snowy Swiss construction site.
- Skyjacked, a re-imagining of the Hijacked map from Black Ops II
- Der Eisendrache, a map for the Zombies mode set in a medieval castle.
The new maps will be available for download on February 2, 2016 on PS4. No word on a release date for other platforms as of this writing.
