Fallout 76’s B.E.T.A. Test Starts This October, Xbox One Gets In First

But you have to pre-order first

Fallout 76 is Bethesda Game Studio’s first forray into multiplayer. The spinoff title for post-apocalypse RPG is set so early that you will be playing as one of the first vault dwellers to set foot to the outside world again after the nukes dropped, which means every human character you encounter is a human player, also fresh out of the vault.

Being a multiplayer title, and the first one for the developers, there will be a closed beta, cheekily branded as the Break-it-Early-Test-Application (B.E.T.A.). How to apply? Well, you need to pre-order the game at participating retailers, which will then give you the codes to redeem and access it.

The Xbox One version will get a head start over PS4 and PC. The beta will be sometime in October though exact dates have yet to be revealed. Based from this post from the official forums, the rollout of access will “start small and grow over time” though all pre-orders from participating retailers will receive access.

More information about the game will be revealed at QuakeCon, in particular during the Fallout 76 panel on August 11th.

Get ready to come home to West Virginia when Fallout 76 launches on November 14th for the PS4, PC and Xbox One.
