Fallout 4 Gets Free Update, Includes Native Version For PS5, Xbox Series

A new update for Fallout 4 will be released on April 25. The update, available on consoles and PC, brings a bunch of fixes. Though most importantly, the game will now have a native next-gen console version.

Currently, Fallout 4 is available on PS4 and Xbox One, though the game is playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S via backwards compatibility.

The update will bring a native PS5 and Xbox Series X|S version, which will allow the game to be played at a higher framerate (up to 60 FPS) or resolution when played on the next-gen (or rather current-gen, or for those keeping count, 9th generation) consoles.

PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Fallout 4 will have a Performance mode and Quality mode options.

For the PS4 and Xbox One, this Fallout 4 update brings in bug fixes and stability improvements.

As for PC, the new update will add widescreen and ultra widescreen support, fixes to the Creation Kit and other quest fixes. Also, the update will make Fallout 4 Steam Deck Verified. Plus, Fallout 4 will be made available on the Epic Games Store.

Between this update and Fallout 76 getting an update, there’s certainly buzz around this post-apocalypse RPG series. And that’s due to the new Fallout TV show streaming in Prime Video.
