Yellow Brick Games has revealed its debut game, Eternal Strands. This is a new fantasy action-adventure game described to combine elements of Monster Hunter and Shadow Of The Colossus.
The reveal trailer shows in-game footage of the player character battling against a giant enemy, climbing on top of them as well as manipulating physical objects via magic.
As Brynn, you are a Weaver determined to recover her people’s home and uncover the secrets of a now-dormant nation called the enclave.
Eternal Strands is touting physics-based systems as part of its core gameplay. Expect flames to spread, ice to cause things to freeze up, and various objects like boulders can be lifted up telekinetically to be thrown towards enemies. The weather also plays into the systems as well, where heatwaves can help spread fire as an example.
Eternal Strands is running on Unreal Engine 5 and has been development over four years by a team of 68 people (plus other co-developers- Streamline Studios has revealed they are contributing to the project).
This project was initially signed with Private Division as its publisher, but recently Yellow Brick Games announced they will be self-publishing this title instead.
Yellow Brick Games is founded by veteran game developers in the AAA space: Thomas Giroux, Jeff Skalski, Mike Laidlaw and Frédéric St-Laurent B.
Eternal Strands is expected to release in 2025 for PS5, PC (Steam) and Xbox Series X|S.
