DreadOut 2 Releasing On Switch January 2024

DreadOut 2, the survival horror game from Indonesia developers Digital Happiness, will be getting a release on Nintendo Switch thanks to Singapore-based publisher Soft Source Publishing.

The release will be available globally on digitally via the Nintendo Switch eShop with subtitles in English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Spanish and Russian languages.

No physical release has been announced yet. Interesting considering this is the publisher that released fellow Indonesian creation A Space For The Unbound on a physical Switch cartridge.

DreadOut 2, first released in 2020, centers around Linda who must banish the her hometown of ghosts using a smartphone camera to snap pictures of the spirits (Fatal Frame style), or use melee weapons for ghosts that have physical forms.

As you can expect, Dreadout 2 leans heavily on Indonesian culture, so there are supernatural spirits based of the legends and myths in the region like the Kuntilanak (or Pontianak as it’s known in Malaysia), the Southeast Asian version on vampires.

DreadOut 2 is currently available on PlayStation and Xbox consoles as well as PC, but it’s cool to see Switch players can experience this survival horror sequel.

DreadOut 2 will be released on Switch on January 18, 2024.
