Dauntless Passes 5 Million Players Milestone After Full Release

Dauntless, the free-to-play Monster Hunter-like action game, has amassed 5 million players total. This comes right off the heels of its full release, in which see the game migrating to the Epic Games Store for PC with cross-play and cross-progression support – One Dauntless, as the developers Phoenix Labs call it.

A day of its release saw the indie developers announcing they have reached 4 million players just 24 hours of its full release, which sees console players on PS4 and Xbox One joining for the first time.

One week later, the Dauntless Twitter account they have added another million to the count, reaching 5 million players.

It’s a massive achievement. But it also has other impacts. Scrolling the other tweets from the account see the game facing some server issues. The developers are ironing out the issues by each day and ramping up servers to deal with the huge player count right now. Getting into the game right now requires you waiting in a queue- a measure to keep the servers running within capacity. But that also means there are tons of players out there stuck in the main menu.

Dauntless will continue to receive content updates, with a release for Nintendo Switch and mobile devices in the works. The game is out now on the PS4 (but not on PS Store Asia), PC (Epic Games Store) and Xbox One.
